Wills, Trust, and Estate Planning

As much as we would love to think we will go on and live forever, unfortunately that is simply not the case. Protect yourself and your family by making sure you have a complete estate plan in place. Basic estate planning consists of a Last Will and Testament, Trust, and Durable Power of Attorney.

A Will not only designates inheritance of your assets, but will also appoint guardianship for your minor children. A will can save your family confusion and needless expense on probate disputes. By completing an estate plan suitable for your needs you make the decisions on how your assets are handled, not the Probate Court.

While a Last Will and Testament allows you to direct who will receive your assets after you die, a Living Will, also known as Health Care Surrogate is a legal document you can use to make known your medical wishes. It specifies to your doctors, friends and family your end of life medical wishes and the medical actions you would like to take place in the event you are unable to make decisions on your own.
